My first time snorkeling on St. John, I immediately encountered a parrot fish. I had no idea such a beautiful creature existed. If you have never snorkeled before you will find many user friendly beaches where it will be easy to learn the ropes. We provide snorkel gear for our guests, and will be glad to give you suggestions for your skill level. It’s truly amazing for beginners to see a whole new world under our beautiful blue sea. For beginners I would suggest snorkeling around the rocks at Francis Bay. For experienced snorkelers, it’s always beautiful snorkeling around the little islands at Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and especially at Leinster Bay. Currents can definitely be stronger out wards the islands, so be safe! If you do decide to explore the Caribbean blue, take a look at the National Park’s fish guide to identify the different species you saw.
